EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE FORMALISES RELATIONSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, WINNEBA

The Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to formalise the existing relationship between both institutions.
In a brief ceremony which took place on Monday 10th May, 2021 at UEW, the Vice-Chancellor of UEW, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni stated that affiliation relationships are supposed to be a win-win situation for both institutions where the mentor institution ensures best practices by the mentee institution.
He noted that UEW had put a hold on granting affiliation to institutions but had to give EPUC a special exception.

On his part, the President of EPUC, Prof. Edem Kwasi Bakah who was accompanied by the Assistant Registrar (Academic Affairs), Ms. Bridgitte Nuhoho, expressed appreciation to the Management of UEW for their decision to accord EPUC affiliation for their diploma
programmes in Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing and Agriculture.
He stated that the process of affiliation for the said programmes started four years back and was happy that it has finally been formalised.
He assured Management of UEW of their preparedness to work hard to strengthen the relationship so that it can be more fruitful for their mutual benefit. He also appealed to the Management of UEW to revisit and fast-tract their application for affiliation regarding some music related programmes.

In his comments, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UEW, Prof. Andrews Ofori-Birikorang stated that affiliation relationships usually commence on a good note but get rocky along the way due to mentee institutions’ inability to honour their financial and other obligations.

He therefore urged EPUC to endeavour to fulfill their part of the MoU agreement to strengthen the relationship between both institutions.

Members of UEW present at the ceremony were the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima, Esq, the Principal, College of Languages Education, Prof. Dominic Mensah, the Director, Directorate of Finance, Mr. Francis Obeng and the Director, Directorate of Academic Affairs, Mr. Collins Owusu-Ansah.
