Governance student donates lights to EPUC

Mike-Morrison Kekeli Badagbor, a level 200 Governance Student of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC)- Ho, has donated six (6) pieces of streetlights to the management of the Institution on Saturday, September 18, 2021, to help brighten its Ho Kpodzi campus.

The short ceremony, held at the Premier University’s main campus in Ho, saw the President, Professor Edem Kwasi Bakah and the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Daniel Delali Kornu, receive the lights and its installation components, on behalf of management.
According to Morrison who was accompanied by other students from Governance, HRM, TEIN executives and the outgoing SRC President, Raynolds Agbenyenu, he was acting on a call for support by management.
“I realized that, many at time when we come to the campus, we see other people come around who are not students. We also realized that the place is not very lit at night, although there are some lights around, it is not enough, and so I discussed with friends and realized I can provide 5 streetlights initially, but I have added one more. That came after I saw the communique that management needs support. Even though it is not in the area of what was requested, this is what I can support the Institution with.”
Management, via a letter dated July 22, 2021, called on Staff and Students to support the Institution with equipment to enhance teaching and learning after administrative needs, after many donations from external stakeholders.

President of EPUC, Professor Edem Kwasi Bakah in appreciating and commending the effort of Mike-Morrison, encouraged other students, staff and organizations to come on board and change the face of the University.

“On behalf of management and my own behalf, I wish to thank you and your team for this kind gesture. I am extremely happy, because when we made the appeal, to staff and students, this is the second donation we are getting; one came from a lecturer, Mr Norgah in a form of Nose Masks for Staff and for students, this is the first one. You said that, this is not what we requested for but the list we provided could not cover everything. This and other things which were not listed are also part of the things we need and we are happy that you identified this one as a need.”
I want to use this opportunity to encourage other students, organizations or staff to also come in to support us. We have been working hard to change the face of the University and not everything will be done from internally generated funds. This is a commendable gesture and I want to assure you and your team that this will maintained and put to good use, as you will as well help us install it.” He added.
The lights and installation components, amounting to GH₵2,900.00, will later be installed at the University’s Ho Kpodzi campus in Ho.
