Avatime Local GNAT Marks World Teacher’s Day
As Ghana joined the rest of the world to celebrate the day World Teacher’s day, teachers at Avatime in the Ho West District of the Volta Region has also mark the day in a grand style.
The celebration which was organised on the theme ‘Teacher wanted: Reclaiming teaching and learning for human-centered recovery was characterized by health walk, fun games and some refreshments.
The guest of honour, Mr. Wisdom Mawutor Boima, Secretary of the Ho Municipal Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) appreciated teachers’ efforts in delivery of quality Education to the Ghanaian Child.
He further advised the teachers to upgrade themselves in the world of academia so that they can become better teachers in the near future.
As part of the celebration, new officers were handed over the mantle to stir the affairs of teachers in the enclave.
Mr. Foster Gborgbanu was given the Chairmanship position as their constitution demands and Mr. Anthony Newton Tagbovi was elected as the substantive Vice Chairman since the old Chairman was transferred to another District.
However, teachers in the Avatime area used the occasion to drum home some demands concerning their work to enhance quality service delivery and also called on colleague teachers to be up and doing in their service delivery and also take their welfare seriously.
