Suame police nab man who slit throat of colleague

Twenty-two-year-old suspect identified as Emmanuel Owusu is currently in police grips for allegedly stabbing his friend to death at Suame magazine industrial enclave in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma, Suame District Police Commander Superintendent Emmanuel Asiamah explained that “upon intelligence we gathered, we were able to intercept the suspect at Kodie whiles he was on his way to his hometown-Akomadan”.

Police at Suame in the Ashanti Region launched a manhunt for the suspect who allegedly stabbed his friend to death on Wednesday, October 13.

Victim, identified as Ebenezer Asare, 23, died shortly after he was rushed to the hospital following the incident which began as a brawl that ensued between the two.

Eyewitness say “after the short brawl, the suspect went home and returned with a sharp object and stabbed the victim twice at the neck. He bled profusely whilst we rushed him to the hospital but few minutes after we arrived he gave up the ghost”.

Superintendent Emmanuel Asiamah explained artisans at the Suame Magazine trooped to the police station, requesting his release to lynch him.

But for the timely intervention of personnel on duty, he further said, the angry artisans would have muddied the water.

The suspect, who is popularly known as Modric, is currently assisting police with further investigations as they gather information to arraign him before court on Monday.
