Asanteman to construct Multi purpose millennium city "Asanteman Goldtown Resource Park".

Preparations are underway to begin the construction of a multi-purpose millennium city in the Asante kingdom, precisely Anwiankwanta in the Amansie area (Bekwai Municipality) of Ashanti Region.

This groundbreaking project, known as 'Otumfuo Osei Tutu II GoldTown Resource Park' is expected to be the first of its kind (gold-themed project) in the history of Africa, with an estimated construction cost of approximately $1.5billion dollars.
The 'GoldTown' project is specially designed to link the capital city of the Asante kingdom, the 'Golden city' of Obuasi and the coastal cities of Central and Western Regions.
Components within the 500 acre land shall include an industrial park, refinery, shopping malls, state of the art hotels and conferences, business park, residential, community and real estates, sports enclave, entertainment and recreational centers and an epi-center known as "Asante Akoma", a gold tower equivalent to a 48-storey building all linked to the Asante Kingdom and its inception.
This groundbreaking project is being handled by renowned Ghanaian development architect Professor Kwame Addo. Professor Addo is endowed with vast experience in the built-environment both local and international. He was inspired by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to come up with a bankable project for the Asante Kingdom. The celebrated architect in an interview taunted His Royal Majesty as a great icon and an agent of development agent in Ghana.
"We call on every Asante, Ghanaian, African and all the people of the world to partake in the realization of this great historic and bankable project which will not only boost tourism in Ghana but also create jobs for the teeming youth and uplift livelihoods as a whole". He indicated.
The project is designed to inculcate the rich history of the Asantes which spans over 400 years and is set to captivate and inspire all people of African descent.
A section of the public in an interview with PAG TV News, also expressed optimism and commended His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and all stakeholders for such a monumental initiative.
