Kaneshie: LPG cylinder refurbishing cartel arrested.

The Ghana National Fire Service in a swift operation on Monday, August 08, 2022, collaborated with the Ghana Police Service to arrest a cartel made up of three (3) males and a female that deals in refurbishing old and abandoned LPG cylinders at Swanlake Masalachi, North Kaneshie in Accra.

The Modus Operandi of the group is to get old cylinders, weld worn out metal portions together, spray them anew and send them for sale in the open market with blatant disregard to all LPG manufacturing safety and pressure testings protocols.

The joint team retrieved several old LPG cylinders and the equipment they use in committing the crime from the fabrication warehouse of the cartel.
