Association of Band Senior Officers Welfare meets at GNFS HQ.

The Association which was formerly called Association of Music Directors whose Membership was made up of only Music Directors of the various Security Services Bands under the Ministry of Interior and CEPS is now called Association of Band Senior Officers Welfare (ABSOW).
The all Senior Officers Association met at the Akyianu Hall of GNFS Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, 13th October, 2022 to foster good relationship, promote solidarity, mutual cooperation amongst Members and as well as to standardize the music played in all the agencies and to assist and support Members in difficult situations.
Head of Public Relations of GNFS, ACFO I Timothy Osafo-Affum who represented the Chief Fire Officer during the meeting expressed his delight about the initiative of the various Band Directors. “It is the hope of the Chief Fire Officer that, through your meetings you will come up with policies that will guide and guard all the bands in the Security Services so that when you go out and play your conducts will enhance the images of our various Services. The Chief Fire Officer also wants the Association to ensure discipline in the bands so that our bands will be seen as the lights of our various Services”, ACFO I Osafo-Affum further stated.
Also in attendance were the Band Director of the GNFS, DO I Isaac Xoakpe Kpodo, ACP Dr. Frank Hukporti, the Director of Bands Ghana Police Service and some other Officers from the Ghana Police Services, the Ghana Prison Service, the National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service.
