Background of Actor Nonso Diobi

Nonso Diobi (born July 17, 1976) is a multiple award-winning Nigerian actor and film director.

Diobi is a native of Nawfia, a small town in Anambra State, Nigeria.
While studying Theatre Art at the University of Nigeria, He made his debut on-screen appearance in a 2001 film titled Border Line followed by an outstanding performance in the movie titled "Hatred". He went on to give a sterling performance in the movie 'Across the Bridge' which gave him a breakthrough after which he became a household name across Africa
 He is the founder and chairman of Golden Tape Media, a leading film/TV production company in Africa. Nonso Diobi is a UN peace ambassador as well as a Teachers without Borders ambassador.

Nonso Diobi is currently single and has never been married. He is one of the eligible bachelors in Nollywood. He has also managed to avoid media scandal because he has kept his personal life secret and away from the media and public view. Nonso Diobi grew up in Enugu in a family of five children comprising two girls and three boys. He is the last born in the family.

Nonso Diobi completed both his primary and secondary school education in Enugu and obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. While still in secondary school he began his own mini business at a very young age, marketing garments to his fellow students during his secondary school days. He started acting at the age of 15 years old, performing in drama in his local church in Enugu. He was the best actor in his church drama club at that time.
After completing his primary and secondary school education in Enugu, Nonso Diobi proceeded to the University of Nigeria Nsukka in Enugu State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. While still in the university he started attending movie auditions and performing as a minor character in movies. His passion for acting was so great that he had to leave his lectures to the point of traveling from Nsukka to Lagos for movie auditions.
Nonso Diobi has acted in more than 200 Nollywood movies which include The Last 3 Digits, Overseas, Makers of Justice, Palace Slave, Across the Bridge, and many more.
