Oti Region: Man struck by Lighting at Dodi Papase.

Tragedy struck the community of Dodi Papase in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region on Friday, October 17, 2025, when a man believed to be in his 40s was struck and killed by lightning.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victim was uprooting a palm tree on a farm belonging to Volta Red Company when the unfortunate incident occurred around 1:45 p.m.

The Assembly Member for Dodi Papase Electoral Area, Hon. Raphael Yeboah, confirmed the incident and explained that traditional rituals must be performed before the body can be moved from the scene, in line with local customs.

The incident has left residents of Dodi Papase shocked and deeply unsettled, with many describing it as a rare and frightening occurrence that has thrown the community into mourning and reflection.

Authorities are working closely with traditional leaders to ensure the proper rites are carried out before the remains are handled.
