DVLA CEO pays courtesy call on the Oti Regional Minister.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, together with his team, paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Hon John Kwadwo Gyapong on Thursday, 4th December 2025. The delegation was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East, Hon. Safo Nketia, in a meeting that centered on infrastructural development and service expansion within the Oti Region.

The visit formed part of the Authority’s efforts to update the Assembly on progress made toward the establishment of the DVLA Regional Office Complex in Dambai, a key initiative designed to enhance vehicular licensing, driver training, and road safety services for residents of the region.

During the meeting, the CEO outlined the strategic importance of the upcoming project, highlighting how the new facility will decentralize DVLA services, reduce travel time for residents, and improve efficiency in service delivery. Hon. Safo Nketia commended the DVLA leadership for prioritizing the Oti Region, expressing optimism that the project will significantly strengthen administrative and road safety operations in Krachi East and beyond.

Following the discussions, Mr. Kotey and his team, accompanied by the MCE, proceeded to inspect the land allocated for the construction of the DVLA Regional Office Complex. The project, scheduled to commence in 2026, marks an important milestone in the region’s development agenda.

Speaking after the inspection, Hon. Safo Nketia welcomed the progress made so far and reaffirmed the Assembly’s full support toward ensuring the timely and successful execution of the project. He emphasized that the facility, once completed, will bring essential services closer to the people, boost local economic activity, and contribute to the overall growth of the Oti Region.

The MCE further assured the DVLA team of the Assembly’s readiness to facilitate all necessary processes to avoid delays and ensure the project begins as planned.

The courtesy visit and subsequent site inspection signal a renewed commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and accelerating infrastructural development within Krachi East. As preparations advance, residents of the Oti Region can look forward to improved access to DVLA services in the near future.
