CHARITY: EPCG DONATED ITEMS TO THE HO CENTRAL PRISONS.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) under the auspices of the General Assembly and Ho East presbytery has donated items worth five thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 5,000) to the Ho Central prisons.
The items which includes packs of Kenkey and Stew, Gari and other provisions including bags of sachet water and NASCO television were presented to the regional commander Rev Andrews Dzokoto yesterday (16/04/2020).
The Moderator of Ho East presbytery Rev. Dr. Mrs. Vivian Balasu Addo who handed over the donations to the Ho Central prisons, indicated that, despite the temporal closure of churches and other social gatherings, that, has no limit to their stewardship as followers of Christ.
She further added that the donation also form part of their annual charity to the Ghana prison Service.
Citing the outbreak of the COVID 19 she said, it became very necessary since this time families were even expelled from visiting the inmates, the church deemed it vital to show some concern of inclusiveness to the Inmates.
Receiving the donations, The Deputy Director of Prisons, (DDP) Rev. Andrews Dzokoto thanked the Church and the moderator for their kind gesture especially for the television since it was an appeal he made to the public.
Rev. Dzokoto again used the medium to appealed to the churches and organization to come into their aids in assisting them for the care of the inmates.
According to the Regional Commander, the Ho Central prisons has plans of establishing a health Center which will serve as a care center for the inmates
He called on the general public and benevolent to assist them with materials and equipments in putting up the facility.
Rev. Dzokoto who is much concerned about the health of the inmates during this COVID 19 outbreaks preventions, said their doors are still opened for individuals and organizations that can, to support them with some of the preventive equipments like the Nose masks, Hand Gloves, Veronica Buckets and Sanitizers to help prevent the outbreak into the prisons.
