Covid19: ALL 46 PUBLIC COLLEGES OF EDUCATION TO BE FUMIGATED


Checks conducted by the News Desk of the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal indicates that all 46 public Colleges of Education are expected to be fumigated by Ghana’s leading Waste Management Company, Zoomlion Ghana.

The fumigation exercise in the 46 Colleges of Education is being organized by the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana.

Arrangements are currently underway and the schedule for the fumigation exercise in the Colleges will be released in the coming days by NCTE.

In an exclusive interaction with the News Desk of the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal, Prof. Mohammed Salifu, Executive Secretary of the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), confirmed the news of the fumigation exercise to be carried out by Zoomlion Ghana in the 46 public Colleges of Education.

He further added that, “the fumigation exercise in the Colleges is very essential at this very crucial time we find ourselves especially at the threat of COVID – 19. Arrangements are far advanced with Zoomlion Ghana and we are hoping to conclude the necessary paper works within the next few days and carry out the exercise in earnest across all the 46 public Colleges of Education”.

The fumigation exercise will help to keep safe and clean the environs of the various Colleges of Education when academic work finally resumes.

Reacting to the news, the Principal of Tamale College of Education, Dr. Sulemana Iddrisu indicated that it is a welcoming news.
He further added that, “we are yet to receive official communication on this. However, it is a welcoming news. The circumstances we find ourselves demands for such an exercise and if our authorities at NCTE have taken the initiative, myself and colleagues in other Colleges will embrace it to keep our environs safe and clean for the task ahead”.
