EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ORGANISED REGIONAL MANAGER’S RETREAT

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Education Unit (EPCG) has organised a 2-day capacity workshop for its regional managers of schools in the country. They were joined by other regional manager’s of other missions in the region.
The capacity workshop began on 19th May, 2021 with an opening prayer by Rev Patrick Dikro, the regional manager of Volta/Oti.

The moderator’s representative in person of Rev.Sylvanus Tetteh opened the retreat on behalf of the moderator of General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. B.D.K. Agbeko Rtd.

He lauded the General Manager for the timely organization of the retreat.

Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh advised the managers to take the training seriously and replicate it when they return to their various regions.

The general manager Mrs Marian Adzroe, in her address touched on the need for capacity building and that has necessitated the workshop.

She charged the managers to coordinate, cooperate, and collaborate with their district, municipal and metropolitan directors to improve learning outcomes as they are all working towards a common goal.

She tasked them to always look for new ways of doing things and not to wait for information to come to them.

The participants were taken through the history of Education from the Castle Schools till date, leadership and the role of manager’s of education, report writing, natural justice, differences between policy and law, and how to develop goals for effective learning outcomes etc.

The 2-day capacity workshop was a great success.

The general manager, Mrs Marian Adzroe is committed towards improving the standards of teaching and learning in EPC schools across the country.

In her closing remarks, she indicated such workshops would be organised from time to time when funds are available and she wished the managers safe journey to their respective regions.
