BUILDING A BRAND NEW KETA MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY: A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY ~ Mr Joel Degue writes

Government appointee and tourism expect Mr Joel Mawuli Degue has come out once again with ideas about developing his hometown Keta.
In a recent post published on facebook by Mr Degue, captioned
"BUILDING A BRAND NEW KETA MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY: A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY."
He touches on the relevant ways people can bring Keta back to it's lively state.
Below is his post,
" No ene points at his hometown with the left hand." - An Ewe Proverb.

This my hometown, Keta. I have lived and worked here all these past 27 years. Can't call any place home except Keta-Anloga. I have travelled outside a bit. I have read a lot about other places and what they have done and continue to do.
I have seen drastic changes happening at other places except at my hometown. Only passion, drive, energy, determination, commitment, courage, conviction, converted effort, enthusiasm, exhuberance, no nonsense, and a can do it attitude of a dedicated group of you men and women can help bring the needed changes in our area.

I refuse to be a spectator, a subject, a slave but rather a citizen, a player, a solution-contributor. No one is going to do it for us except ourselves.

I am always guided by the biggest of wisdom in the following quotes as well as others

"It falls on a generation to be great; you can be that generation." - Nelson Mandela.

"Every generation, in the relative opacity, must find its mission, fulfill it or betray it."- Franz Fanon.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."- Edmund Burke.

"The world is not dangerous because of those who do evil, but by those who keep silent in the face of evil."- Albert Einstein.

"The price good men pay for not taking part in the public affairs [of their towns] is to be ruled by fools."- Socrates.

This generation can be great, very great indeed, because at this moment history is being written before our very eyes, yet most of us don't know.

Be part of the history making movement!

Thank you.

Joel Degue
