SENCHI DERBY SEES ROYALS CLAIM 2 POINTS IN ASOUGYAMAN U-19 GIRLS CRICKET LEAGUE


Beginning the Asuogyaman Girls U-19 T20 community league with the Senchi derby on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, Senchi Royals got the better of their nemesis at the Senchi Methodist Park, winning by 7 wickets.

Senchi Royals won toss and elected to field first and so Senchi Fireballs scored 89 runs, for 8 wickets. Ruth Ndewu, who spent 15 minutes in the game, being the first batsman scored 17-11 balls, with 3, 4’s and she was run out by Freda Dzorfenyo.
The batting order begun to drop gradually, as Evelyn Avayiwoe was the second to score more than 10, 16-38, spending 22 minutes as the 4th batsman.
In the second innings, Freda Dzorfenyo, who contributed 10-14, not out, in her teams 93 runs, 3 wickets in 17.1 over was adjudged player of the match. Freda, was as well instrumental in the bowling figures. She took 3 wickets, gave away 8 runs in 4 overs.
Freda has a great partnership with Joycelyn Dentaa-Bonsu, who also scored 37-37 with 7, 4’s.

At the Presby Park in Akosombo however, Tortibo Twinkle Star Ladies went pass Pupuni Royals by 35 runs after 115 runs, for 6 wickets and 80 runs for 5 wickets result.
Tortibo’s Faustina Nartey who scored 46 runs, off 27 balls, with 7, 4’s and 2, 6’s was adjudged player of the match. She also took 1 wicket, gave away 18 runs in 4 overs.
The Eastern Region Cricket Association is poised to bring out the best in these girls.
