TORTIBO TOPS TABLE AFTER MATCH DAY 2 OF ASUOGYAMAN GIRLS U-19 CRICKET LEAGUE


The weekend matches of the ongoing Asuogyaman Girls U-19 T20 Community Cricket League saw Tortibo twinkle Star Ladies top the table with 4 points after dispatching Mangoase Hydro Heroines by 8 wickets on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
The match, played at the Kyease Park in Akosombo had Mangoase scoring 112 runs, for 8 wickets in the first innings after Tortibo won toss and chose to field first, with Florence Kobe scoring 31-24 after spending 54 minutes with 1, 6 and 4, 4’s.
Evelyn Konotey exhibited her bowling worth with a Golden Duck on Mawusinu Atsu. Evelyn went ahead to take another wicket in her second over, with her bowling figures standing at 2-11 in 4 overs.
Team mates, Beatrice Akornor and Beauty Angmortey also took 2 wickets each, gave away 14 and 25 runs in 3 and 4 overs respectively.
In the second innings, Tortibo scored 113 runs for 2 wickets in 15.2 overs as Ruth Sawereh won the player of the match accolade with 62 runs, off 40 balls in 1 hour, 2 minutes, with 11, 4’s.
The second match of the day had Pupuni Royals losing again but this time, to Senchi Fireballs by 4 wickets.
Pupuni scored 82 runs, all out in 20 overs in the first innings that saw Hanna Tetteh scoring their highest, 21 runs, off 22 balls in her 38 minutes duration of the game.

Celestine Siamey, won the player of the match accolade even before the second innings, with her bowling figures standing at 4-9 in 4 overs.
Senchi Fireballs then scored 83 runs, for 6 wickets in 12.1 over as Christiana Dzade came to the party, scoring 24-16 in 23 minutes.

At the Senchi Methodist Park, Abuakwa Super Queens were super, beating Senchi Royals by 28 runs after a 158-5 and 130-6 result. 

Celestine Akorta of Abuakwa was adjudged player of the match with 35-49 in the batting performance and 1-23 in 4 overs, in the bowling figures.

Although Abuakwa won the game, their PTA Chairman, Jackson Afeletey, says he wasn’t satisfied with the runs scored by his team. He told the officials, he needed about 400 runs from his girls.

Abuakwa Super Queens lie 2nd with 2 points, ahead of Senchi Fireballs and Senchi Royals, who are all with 2 points, but with Net Run Rate difference. 
Mangoase Hydro Heroines and Pupuni Royals are the 2 bottom teams in the Zone 1 affair of the League.
