Gbi-Kodzofe Basic School appeals for support and partnership.
The headteacher on behalf of the staff and Gbi-Kodzofe community write with much hope and expectation to appeal to the general public for urgent support.
The Headteacher,Mr Amegayi Elvis in a post published on his Facebook page appeals for support for his lovely school in order to refurbish and renovote the school.
Gbi-Kodzofe R/C Basic School was established in September 1984 and located in kodzofe in the Hohoe Municipality in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The Headteacher, lamenting says he was transferred to this school exactly a year ago and under his leadership, he was able to collaborate with the education office been able to start a JHS after many failed attempt by the previous leadership.
He further touched about the Pupils who previously used to walk a long distance from Kodzofe to Hohoe or Likpe Nkwanta to access a JHS facility now have one in the school.
This development has brought much joy and hope to the Gbi-Kodzofe community because their wards would not have to walk a long distance before accessing a JHS facility. In addition, pupils who have dropped out of school are now returning to school,He said.
Listing the challenges, he said lack of a classroom for current JHS pupils to move in has become a seroius headache for the stakeholders of the school and also, Kodzofe community is predominantly a farming community and most parents are into subsistence farming.
This situation has made most of the parents unable to provide the basic learning materials (i.e. pencil, pen, eraser, exercise books,mathematical set,school bag etc.) for their wards. Some of them sit and watch their colleagues do their class exercise just because their parents are unable to provide for them and some have been totally neglected, to say the least.
This situation has made teaching very difficult for my young, vibrant and dedicated teachers who are willing to do their best to impact these young ones.
He's therefore writing this appeal letter to humbly request the general public especially within this Christmas season to come to our aid and assist the school with this learning materials and furnitures to curb this menace in the up coming academic year.
In addition, He also want to make a special appeal to any individual or group ready to partner with the school and be stakeholders of the Gbi-Kodzofe school. He also look forward to your swift response and assistance and God richly bless you all for coming to our aid
