Volta YEA Boss Boosts Ties with Police, Fire Service Ahead of Portal Launch.

The Volta Regional Ag Director of YEA, Mr. Daniel Hamenu (Chica) and his management team, comprising Mr. Charles Quarcoo Tsekpetse, Regional Accountant, and Mr. Charles Sedzro, Regional Operations Manager, paid a working visit to the Officer-Commanding the Volta Regional Police Training School, ACP William Yankee Acoloatse, and the Regional Fire Officer, Mr. Joy Ameyibor. This second courtesy call aimed to discuss mutual cooperation and partnership synergy ahead of the portal opening for Community Police Assistants (CPA) and Fire Protection Assistants (FPA) recruitments.
The YEA recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service to recruit 12,000 CPAs and 5,000 FPAs, respectively. The portal is expected to open in the last week of May 2025.

During the visits, ACP Acoloatse expressed gratitude and requested that YEA consider extending the CPA training period to at least six weeks, citing the brevity of the previous training as a hindrance to recruits' absorption of the training content. He highlighted that his previous experience in CPA training indicates that the training period is too short, and in most cases, some recruits do not report on the reporting date and eventually spend fewer days at the training school.

At the Regional Fire Service Command, the Regional Fire Officer, Joy Ameyibor, appealed to YEA management to facilitate the integration of FPAs into the mainstream fire service after serving their contractual term, highlighting that some FPA recruits demonstrate exceptional professionalism, making their departure after two years counterproductive to retaining quality human resources.
