Friday, August 29, 2025
The Aflao Traditional Council, led by Paramount Chief Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, will pay its respects to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, by attending her funeral in Kumasi. The funeral will occur from September 14 to 19, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.
A delegation from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, led by Kyeame Nana Bonsu, formally invited the Aflao chiefs to the funeral at the paramount chief's palace in Agblekpui on August 28, 2025.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at 98, and was renowned for her calm and nurturing leadership style. She played a vital role in Ashanti governance and was instrumental in promoting breastfeeding awareness through annual public campaigns. Her legacy also includes philanthropic work, particularly in healthcare, where she donated to hospitals and covered medical expenses for new mothers.
The Aflao Traditional Area participation shows a strong tie between the Aflao Traditional Council and the Ashanti Kingdom as they come together to pay their respects to the late Asantehemaa.
