On 30th August 2025, the serene town of Akoefe Avenui came alive with vibrant celebrations following an adventurous hike on the historic Galenkui Mountain. What began as a wellness journey through nature’s trails ended in a festive gathering that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Asogli State.
At the funfair, hikers and visitors were treated to an array of local dishes and refreshing drinks, served by food and beverage vendors who lined the grounds with their delicacies. The atmosphere quickly shifted from one of physical endurance to joyous festivity, as traditional sounds and rhythms filled the air.
Cultural troupes, including Borborbor, Zibo, and other indigenous dance groups, delivered electrifying performances that drew cheers and participation from the crowd. Their artistry not only entertained but also highlighted the deep cultural roots and community spirit of the Volta Region.
Adding further significance to the occasion, the event was graced by chiefs, queen mothers, and elders of the Asogli State, whose presence underscored the unity of tradition, wellness, and celebration. Their involvement made the funfair not just an entertainment-filled climax, but also a symbolic reminder of the cultural values that bind the people together.
The day’s activities—blending hiking, health, and heritage—formed part of the broader celebrations of #AsogliTeZa25, reaffirming the festival’s role as a platform for cultural pride, community bonding, and the promotion of healthy living.
