Hon. Afenyo-Markin supports Avenor Traditional Council with GHS 100,000 donation.

The Minority Leader of the Parliament of Ghana and Member of Parliament for the Efutu Constituency, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has demonstrated his commitment to traditional governance and community development with a generous donation towards the construction of the Avenor Traditional Council building.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin made the donation when he attended a meeting of the Avenor Traditional Council in Akatsi in the Volta Region on Tuesday. During the meeting, he contributed an amount of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 100,000) to support the ongoing construction of a permanent office complex for the Traditional Council.
Addressing the chiefs and elders, the Minority Leader emphasized the critical role traditional authorities play in maintaining peace, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting development at the grassroots level. He noted that providing a befitting structure for the Avenor Traditional Council would enhance its administrative capacity and strengthen collaboration between traditional leaders and state institutions.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin further stated that national development thrives when political leadership and traditional authorities work hand in hand, adding that his support was motivated by the need to encourage unity, stability, and inclusive development across communities.
The leadership of the Avenor Traditional Council expressed profound gratitude to the Minority Leader for his timely and generous contribution. They described the donation as a significant boost to the council’s efforts to complete the project and pledged to ensure the funds are used judiciously to advance the construction.
The Avenor Traditional Council building project, when completed, is expected to serve as a central hub for traditional administration, dispute resolution, and cultural activities within the Avenor traditional area, thereby strengthening local governance and community cohesion.
