The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Krachi East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Safo Nketia, has given a firm assurance to support Dambai and Dormabin English and Arabic School with the construction of critical educational infrastructure aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions in the municipality.
The proposed project includes the construction of a modern six-unit classroom block, two office spaces for administrative use, and a four-unit toilet facility. According to Hon. Safo Nketia, work on the project is scheduled to commence in January next year, underscoring the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening educational delivery and providing a conducive learning environment for both pupils and teachers.
Speaking on the initiative, the MCE emphasized that education remains a top priority for the Krachi East Municipal Assembly. He noted that the lack of adequate classroom space and sanitation facilities continues to pose challenges to effective teaching and learning in some parts of the municipality, particularly in growing communities such as Dambai and Dormabin. The planned intervention, he explained, is intended to address these gaps and enhance access to quality education.
Hon. Safo Nketia further assured school authorities, parents, and community members that the Assembly is committed to ensuring the timely execution of the project. He called for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders, including traditional leaders and residents, to ensure the smooth implementation and sustainability of the facilities once completed.
School authorities and community representatives welcomed the announcement with enthusiasm, describing it as a significant boost to the school’s development. They expressed appreciation to the MCE and the Municipal Assembly for responding to the pressing infrastructural needs of the institution, noting that the new facilities would help reduce congestion, improve sanitation, and create a more comfortable learning environment for pupils.
The construction of the classroom block, offices, and toilet facility is expected to have a positive impact on enrolment, staff morale, and overall academic performance at Dambai and Dormabin English and Arabic School. When completed, the project will stand as a testament to the Krachi East Municipal Assembly’s commitment to investing in education as a foundation for sustainable development in the municipality.
