VORSAG-UEW Hosts Freshers’ Woezɔ Bɔbɔbɔ and Agbadza Night in Grand Style
The Volta Region Students’ Association of the University of Education, Winneba (VORSAG-UEW), on Saturday, 24th January 2026, successfully organized its Freshers’ Cultural Display Programme dubbed “Woezɔ Bɔbɔbɔ and Agbadza Night” at Sir Charles Beach, Majesty Pub, Winneba.
Held under the theme “Echoes of Our Roots: Bɔbɔbɔ and Agbadza Night of Unity and Identity,” the programme sought to officially welcome freshers into the association while promoting Ewe cultural heritage, unity, and identity among students of the Volta Region and the wider UEW community.
The night was characterized by energetic Bɔbɔbɔ drum rhythms, captivating Agbadza and Kinka dance performances, traditional music, and an impressive display of indigenous attire, creating a lively cultural atmosphere under the open sky.
Freshers, continuing students, executives, and invited guests actively participated, turning the occasion into a memorable celebration of culture and belonging.
In attendance were key stakeholders and invited contributors, including Mr. Seyram Akpalu and representatives of Kofi’s Consult, who delivered brief presentations and supported the event through donations toward its success. The association also acknowledged the vital contributions of its drummers, singers, dancers, foreigners, and trumpeters, whose performances formed the heartbeat of the celebration.
The VORSAG-UEW Executives lead by Tɔgbui Agbanu Eric, expressed profound appreciation to Majesty Pub for providing a conducive venue, as well as to sponsors, performers, and the security team for their professionalism and commitment throughout the programme.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the leadership of the association indicated that the cultural night forms part of VORSAG-UEW’s broader mission to preserve indigenous traditions, strengthen student unity, and empower members through social and cultural engagement.
The association further reaffirmed its commitment to organizing impactful programmes that foster cultural pride and meaningful interaction among students.
